Year-Round SportsYouth Sports at the Y

More Than a Game

The YMCA of Klamath Falls offers year-round youth sports for kids of all ages and skill levels — and we welcome both Y members and community members to participate, practice, and play. Kids who participate in sports at the Y discover much more than their athletic abilities. They build character, develop self-confidence, and create healthy relationships through positive competition in a safe, supportive environment. From tiny tot soccer to basketball leagues for older kids, our sports programs are designed to make every child feel like they belong. Sports are one of the biggest revenue drivers for our organization and one of the things our community loves most about the Y — and we’re proud of that.

What Makes Y Sports Different

Youth sports at the Y aren’t just about winning — they’re about growing. Here’s what every family can expect when their child plays at the Y.

Open to Everyone

Y Members and community members are both welcome to participate in youth sports. Every child belongs here, regardless of experience or membership status.

Age-Appropriate Divisions

We organize teams by age and grade so every child competes with peers at a similar level — keeping games fair, fun, and age-appropriate from Pre-K through 8th grade.

Character Development

Sports at the Y are built around more than athletics. Kids develop self-confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy habits that go far beyond the playing field.

Financial Assistance

We believe every child deserves to play. Financial assistance is available for families who need help covering registration costs — contact us to learn more about sports scholarship options.

Sports That Build Character

At the YMCA of Klamath Falls, we believe sports are one of the most powerful tools for youth development — not just physically, but in every part of a child’s life. When kids play at the Y, they learn how to work as a team, how to handle a loss with grace, how to celebrate a teammate’s success, and how to keep going when things get hard. These are lessons that stick with them long after the season ends. Our sports programs are designed to be inclusive and positive, where every child — regardless of skill level — feels valued and supported. We’re not just building athletes. We’re building good people.

Become a Volunteer Coach

We’re always looking for passionate adults to serve as volunteer coaches for our Kindergarten through 6th grade sports leagues — and it’s one of the most rewarding things you can do in your community. As a volunteer coach, you commit to one weekly practice session and coaching games, and in return you get to be a positive role model who helps kids thrive through athletic activity and teamwork. We do all the heavy lifting so you can focus on the fun — every volunteer coach receives training, practice plans, a coaching manual, and an organized game schedule. You even get to choose the day and time of your weekly practice (on a first-come, first-served basis). If you’re interested, give us a call at 541.884.4149 — we’d love to have you on the team.
