We're More Than a Gym. We're Your Neighbors.
The YMCA of Klamath Falls is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been serving this community for nearly 80 years. We are the only nonprofit gym in the area — which means every dollar you spend here stays in Klamath Falls and goes directly back into the programs, people, and places that make our community stronger. We offer two facilities, dozens of programs, and one unwavering commitment: to make sure every person in Klamath Falls has a place to grow, connect, and belong. From the family working out together to the child learning to swim for the first time, from the senior attending a yoga class to the team volunteering at a local event — this is your Y, and we’re proud to be a part of this community.

Learn More About Our Y
The Y is made up of the people who work here, the members who show up, and the community that supports us. Explore the pages below to get to know us a little better.
Nearly 80 Years in Klamath Falls
The YMCA of Klamath Falls was organized in 1947 — and our first home was a tin shack on a used car lot on Balsiger Motors. From those humble beginnings, the Y grew steadily, moving to the National Guard Armory, then to a former bakery building on Pine Street, and finally breaking ground on Alameda Avenue in 1969. The formal opening of our current Aquatic & Fitness Center took place in January 1971 — and we’ve been here for Klamath Falls ever since. Over the decades we grew from the Klamath YMCA to the Klamath County Family YMCA, and in January 2012 we became The YMCA of Klamath Falls as part of a national rebrand. This year, we’re proud to celebrate the YMCA’s 175th anniversary — a milestone that belongs to every person who has ever called this place home.

Our Mission, Cause & Values
Our mission is to put Christian principles into practice for all by promoting youth development, encouraging healthy living, and practicing social responsibility. Our cause is to strengthen communities by focusing on those same three pillars — youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Everything we do at the Y flows from that cause: every program we run, every membership we offer, and every dollar we raise goes back into making Klamath Falls a stronger, healthier, more connected place. Our four core values — Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility — guide how we show up for our members, our staff, and our community every single day. These aren’t just words on a wall. They’re how we try to live.

What Makes Our Y Different
There are other places to work out in Klamath Falls. Here’s why families, individuals, and the broader community choose the Y.
We're a Nonprofit
We are the only nonprofit gym in Klamath Falls. Every dollar you spend here goes directly back into our programs and our community — not into a corporate pocket. When you’re a member at the Y, you’re investing in Klamath Falls.
Child Watch & Family Focus
We’re the only facility in the area that offers a dedicated child watch program, so families can work out with peace of mind while their kids are safe and cared for. Youth development is at the heart of everything we do.
Safe for Your Family
All members are screened against the registered sex offender registry. We take the safety of our members — especially our youngest ones — seriously. Every time you walk through our doors, you’re in a vetted, community-first space.
Open 24/7
Our Aquatic & Fitness Center is open around the clock with keycard access for members — so you can work out on your schedule, not ours. No other nonprofit gym in the area offers that kind of flexibility.
